Flintstones Meet Frankenstein & Dracula

Gold Key turned up the awesome factor to 11 with the April 1966 issue of The Flintstones #33 by adding not only Frankenstein's monster and Dracula, but also the Wolf Man and The Mummy! It's a pre-hysterical mad monster party of fun-- Yabba-Dabba-Boo!

Excellent stuff. I love the creature caricatures. There seemed to be a whole cartoon industry built around managing to both evoke the Universal monsters and also dodge their well-defended copyright. I like that these guys actually have Bela's upper lip, say, or Boris' cheeks--while otherwise looking a lot more generalized. Excellent stuff.
